Position Description- Assistant Treasurer
Be a back-up for the District 10 Alanon Treasurer and step in when the Treasurer is unable to fulfill any of the below activities.
The District maintains a small business checking account at Wells Fargo. There are two signatories on the account.
The Treasurer maintains the checkbook/Excel sheet listing all receipts and disbursements by category and balances the Excel sheet to the online account information. The current Excel sheet feeds directly into the monthly statement that is submitted to the DR requiring only editing the date ranges on the statement. A new sheet in the Excel workbook is established each year for those monthly statements.
The Treasurer makes deposits and writes checks as needed and approved at monthly meetings. Most disbursements are currently done through online banking.
The Treasurer maintains paper backup for most receipts and disbursements so that the statements and Excel sheet can be checked for accuracy.
Currently the monthly bank statements are downloaded and kept electronically for future reference.
The Treasurer suggests a “prudent Reserve” to be maintained. When excess funds are available suggestions for donations to the Area, World Service Office and/or Service Center can be made.
Attend District meetings once a month.
